Agreement to Terms

By creating an account and using Trak30, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use Trak30.

Simple version: Be cool, don't abuse the system, and understand this is a free tool with no warranties.

Who Can Use Trak30

• Age Requirement: You must be 13 years or older to use Trak30
• Under 18: Users under 18 should have parental permission
• Account Limit: One account per person or household (don't create spam accounts)
• Accuracy: You're responsible for the accuracy of your transaction data

Account Registration

• You choose a username and password
• No email required (privacy-first design)
• You must answer security questions and save your recovery code
• Important: Without your recovery code, you cannot reset your password. We can't help you recover your account.
• Keep your password and recovery code secure
• Don't share your account with others

What Trak30 Is (And Isn't)

Trak30 IS:

• A budget tracking tool
• A personal finance organizer
• A transaction record keeper
• An analytics platform for your spending habits
• An AI-powered categorization tool that learns from your spending patterns

Trak30 IS NOT:

• ❌ Financial advice or a financial advisor
• ❌ Certified tax preparation software
• ❌ An official IRS reporting tool
• ❌ Investment advice
• ❌ A substitute for professional financial planning
• ❌ FDIC insured or a bank
• ❌ A guarantee of financial accuracy or success

Disclaimer: Trak30 provides tools and insights, but you make your own financial decisions. Consult a professional financial advisor, accountant, or tax expert for serious financial matters.

Your Responsibilities

• Accurate Data: You're responsible for entering correct transaction amounts and categories
• Verify AI Suggestions: Always review and verify AI-generated categorizations before accepting them
• Verify OCR Data: Always review receipt scan data before saving transactions
• Security: Keep your password and recovery code safe
• Legal Use: Use Trak30 only for personal financial tracking (no illegal activity)
• No Abuse: Don't try to hack, exploit, or break the system
• No Spam: Don't create multiple accounts to abuse resources
• Professional Consultation: Consult qualified professionals for tax, financial, and legal advice

How Trak30 Works

• Free Service: Trak30 is 100% free with no hidden costs
• Donations Welcome: You can support development via Ko-fi (completely optional)
• Manual Tracking: You enter transactions manually or via OCR receipt scanning
• No Bank Linking: We don't connect to your bank (by design for privacy)
• Cloud-Based: Your data is stored securely on our servers (not on your device)

Data Ownership

• Your Data is Yours: You own all transaction data you enter
• Export Anytime: Download your data in CSV, JSON, or PDF format
• Delete Anytime: Permanently delete your account and all data
• No Backups: We don't keep backups after you delete your account
• No Recovery: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered

Service Availability

• Trak30 is provided "as is" with no uptime guarantees
• We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience downtime
• We'll try to minimize disruptions, but can't guarantee 24/7 availability
• No refunds (because it's free)

Account Termination

You Can Delete Your Account Anytime

Go to Settings → Account Management → Delete Account. All your data is permanently removed.

We Can Terminate Accounts For:

• Violation of these Terms
• Abusive behavior (hacking attempts, spam, etc.)
• Illegal activity
• Creating multiple spam accounts

We'll try to warn you first, but reserve the right to terminate without notice for serious violations.

Intellectual Property

• Trak30 Code: Owned by Edgar Robledo / CodeDevHub
• Your Data: Owned by you
• Trademarks: "Trak30" and the Trak30 logo are property of CodeDevHub
• Open Source Libraries: Trak30 uses open source libraries (Chart.js, Tesseract.js, etc.) under their respective licenses

You may not copy, reproduce, or redistribute Trak30's code or design without permission.

AI-Powered Features Disclaimer

AI Categorization

Trak30 uses artificial intelligence (Claude AI by Anthropic) to automatically categorize transactions. You acknowledge and agree that:

• AI is Not Perfect: AI categorization is automated and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or incorrect classifications
• Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all AI-generated categorizations before accepting them
• No Guarantee: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of AI categorizations
• No Liability: Trak30 is not liable for any errors, omissions, or consequences resulting from AI categorizations
• Opt-Out Available: You can disable AI categorization in Settings at any time

AI Data Processing

When using AI features:

• Only transaction descriptions are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic)
• No personal information, usernames, or account details are shared
• AI provider does not store or train on your data (per their privacy policy)
• See our Privacy Policy for complete details on AI data processing

Analytics & Predictions Disclaimer

Financial Health Score

The Financial Health Score is an automated estimate for informational purposes only. You acknowledge that:

• The score is NOT professional financial analysis or advice
• The score is NOT a credit score or credit report
• The score is based on limited data entered by you
• The score does NOT guarantee financial health or success
• You should NOT make important financial decisions based solely on this score

Spending Predictions

Spending predictions are automated estimates based on historical data. You acknowledge that:

• Predictions may be inaccurate or completely wrong
• Predictions do NOT account for unexpected expenses, life changes, or economic conditions
• Predictions are NOT financial advice or recommendations
• You should NOT rely solely on predictions for budgeting or financial planning
• Always maintain an emergency fund regardless of predictions

Analytics & Insights

All analytics, charts, reports, and insights provided by Trak30 are:

• Based solely on data you manually enter
• For informational and educational purposes only
• NOT professional financial advice or recommendations
• NOT guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or up-to-date
• NOT a substitute for professional financial planning

You are solely responsible for all financial decisions you make. Consult a licensed financial advisor, CPA, or tax professional for important financial matters.

OCR Receipt Scanning Disclaimer

Trak30's OCR (Optical Character Recognition) receipt scanning feature uses automated technology to extract data from receipt images. You acknowledge that:

• Not 100% Accurate: OCR technology is not perfect and may misread amounts, dates, or other information
• Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying all OCR-extracted data before saving transactions
• No Guarantee: We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of OCR results
• No Liability: Trak30 is not liable for any errors, omissions, or consequences resulting from incorrect OCR data
• Receipt Quality: OCR accuracy depends on receipt quality, lighting, and clarity - poor quality receipts may produce inaccurate results

Always double-check OCR results before saving transactions.

Disclaimers & Limitations

No Warranties

Trak30 is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy of analytics, predictions, or categorizations
• Accuracy of AI-generated content or suggestions
• Accuracy of OCR receipt scanning
• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Security (though we implement industry-standard measures)
• Fitness for a particular purpose
• Merchantability or non-infringement

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

• Edgar Robledo / CodeDevHub is NOT LIABLE for any damages arising from use of Trak30
• This includes direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, punitive, or special damages
• Financial losses, data loss, incorrect categorizations, tax penalties, or any other losses are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
• Maximum liability (if any) is limited to $0 (because Trak30 is free)
• We are not liable for AI errors, OCR errors, prediction inaccuracies, or data security breaches
• We are not liable for decisions you make based on Trak30 data, analytics, or predictions

Financial Disclaimer

TRAK30 IS NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE.

The analytics, insights, predictions, suggestions, Financial Health Score, and all other features are tools for information only. They are NOT:

• Recommendations to buy, sell, save, or spend
• Professional financial advice or planning
• Investment advice or recommendations
• Guarantees of financial success or outcomes

You make your own financial decisions and accept full responsibility for those decisions. Consult a licensed financial advisor for professional advice.

Tax Reporting Disclaimer

TRAK30 IS NOT TAX PREPARATION SOFTWARE.

The "Annual Tax Summary" and categorization features are automated estimates based on your input. You acknowledge that:

• Trak30 does NOT guarantee the deductibility of any item
• Categorizations (e.g., "Medical" vs "Personal") may contain errors
• AI categorization may incorrectly classify tax-deductible expenses
• You are solely responsible for verifying all data before filing taxes
• You must consult a licensed CPA or tax advisor for tax advice
• Trak30 is NOT liable for any tax penalties, audits, interest, or consequences incurred
• Trak30 does NOT replace professional tax preparation services

DO NOT file taxes based solely on Trak30 data. Always verify with a tax professional.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Edgar Robledo, CodeDevHub, and any affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:

• Your use of Trak30
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
• Any financial decisions you make based on Trak30 data
• Any tax filings or financial reporting based on Trak30 data
• Any content you enter or data you export from Trak30

This indemnification obligation survives termination of these Terms and your use of Trak30.

Third-Party Links

Trak30 may contain links to third-party websites (Ko-fi, CodeDevHub, etc.). We're not responsible for their content, privacy policies, or practices.

We also use third-party services (Anthropic AI, Heroku, MongoDB Atlas) as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for their actions or policies.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

Major changes will be announced on the app's login/dashboard page.

Continued use of Trak30 after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Dispute Resolution & Arbitration

Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of Trak30 shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the Commercial Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA).

Arbitration Terms

• Location: Arbitration shall take place in Lancaster County, South Carolina, or remotely via videoconference if mutually agreed
• One Arbitrator: Selected according to AAA rules
• Costs: Each party shall bear its own costs and expenses, including attorney fees, unless the arbitrator awards costs to the prevailing party
• Final Decision: The arbitrator's decision is final and binding

Class Action Waiver

YOU AGREE THAT ANY PROCEEDINGS WILL BE CONDUCTED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND NOT IN A CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.

You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against Trak30, Edgar Robledo, or CodeDevHub.

Exceptions

Either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court to prevent irreparable harm.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Any legal action or proceeding not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Lancaster County, South Carolina. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect.

The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced with a valid provision that most closely reflects the intent of the original provision.

Entire Agreement

These Terms of Service, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Trak30 regarding your use of the service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
